TANZANIA'S LOW-COST AIRLINE OPERATOR
Zanzibar
conjures up exotic and romantic images for good reason. Imagine crystal-clear water, pristine beaches, cultural treasures and lush plantations. Its rich history is centred around the main Stone Town - once the capital of an empire spanning continents and from where famous explorers such as David Livingstone and Henry Stanley began their journeys of discovery.
Zanzibar, an archipelago of many small islands, is a semi-autonomous area of Tanzania lying some 25 miles of the coast of the Indian Ocean. The two main islands are PEMBA Island, to the north, and the larger southerly UNGUJA Island, or Zanzibar as it’s widely known. Around two thirds of the 1.3m population live here, with most settled in the densely populated west. Outside of a handful of main towns, most people live in small villages - trading, subsistence farming, or living off the sea.
The reefs are rich in marine biodiversity, making them ideal for snorkelling and diving and with miles of beaches of the softest white sands, fringed with coconut palms, it is a classic tropical paradise.
It’s these stunning scenes and the laid back lifestyle that attracts visitors from all over the world.

Mwanza Region
(Mkoa wa Mwanza in Swahili)
is one of Tanzania's administrative regions. The region covers a land area of 25,233 km2 (9,743 sq mi). The region is comparable in size to the combined land area of the nation state of North Macedonia. Mwanza Region is bordered to the north through Lake Victoria by the Kagera Region and Mara Region, to the east by Simiyu Region, to the south by the Shinyanga Region and to the west by Geita Region. The regional capital is the city of Mwanza.
According to oral history, around c.1500 a group of 250 Bantu people, from the shores north of modern Geita, looking for a new home. The group was led by the son of the king of the Lushamba Kingdom. When reaching what is near - and east of - today's Mwanza City, the son called out,
"nye-nsukumale-aha", meaning "I, a Sukuma am here". It is from this phrase, and camp that the name Usukuma, (Sukumaland), and modern Mwanza is from. From the 1500s the region, as well as many of the surrounding regions, would be part of the Sukuma kingdoms rather than villages, and for much of that time ruled from the area near modern-day city of Mwanza. Beginning from this time many people from very diverse backgrounds and tribes moved to Usukuma.

Arusha City
is situated in northern Tanzania, just below Mt. Meru at an elevation of 1,500m above the sea level. The fast growing city of Arusha has long been the ideal gateway to East Africa’s most famous tourist attractions such as National Parks, Masai culture; it is now also a popular centre for International meetings, conventions, and conferences. For some years Arusha has been the trading centre for Tanzanite; a unique Gemstone mined only in northern Tanzania.
Lying halfway between Cairo and Cape Town, the town has a history that commenced in the 19th Century when Captain Johannes built a fort at the foot of Mount Meru to facilitate the German colonization of what later became known as Tanganyika. From the little fort, which still stands and has became converted into a museum of natural history, the town of Arusha grew; first as a trading post for the local people, and now into famous centre for various international activities.

Mafia Island
along with Unguja, Pemba, and Latham Island, is part of the Tanzanian Zanzibar Archipelago. The island is located in the Pwani region of Tanzania and it covers an area of 394 square kilometers (152 square miles). It is the third largest island in the Tanzanian ocean territory and it forms the majority part of the Mafia district. Mafia Island is a popular place for visitors to unwind after a Tanzania safari, and; the island’s relaxed and secluded beaches provide privacy and comfort for discerning travelers.
Mafia’s incredible and unspoiled dive sites have long been a well-kept secret among diving enthusiasts and beach bums, but the island is quickly becoming a popular beach holiday destination. For centuries, the island was a trading stop for Shirazi merchants traveling up to Persia, and vast coconut and cashew plantations flourished under the rule of the Omani Sultanate in Zanzibar.

Magoroto Forest
The 591 hectares sized Magarotto Forest Estate with its scenic freshwater lake has been opened in 1896 by German Settlers as one of the very first commercial plantations in Eastern Africa. Originally the Estate began as a rubber plantation and, after subsequent failed attempts to grow coffee and tea, converted into a Palmoil Estate in 1921. Seized from the German owners as “enemy property” after World War 1 the Estate has been taken over by the Amboni Group in the 1940s. The palm oil production had to be ceased in the 90s due to stifling competition from Malaysia and Indonesia. Since then Magoroto has been maintained and protected with great enthusiasm and engagement for little else than its unique natural beauty and uniqueness. Along with the neighboring Mlinga Forests Magoroto forms part of the East Usambara Mountains, which are world-renown for their high species endemism and rich floral and faunal diversity. They are recognized as part of a Biodiversity Hotspot (WWF & IUCN), an “Important Bird Area” (Wildlife Conservation Society of Tanzania – WCST) and a “Man and Biosphere Reserve (UNESCO). African Violets (Saintpaulia) have been promoted as flagship plants for the conservation of these forests. As a genuine “hilltop” station Magoroto is an uniquely interesting nearby trekking destination for tourists from the Tanga / Muheza area. Its 850 mts altitude does provide for comfortable climatic and stunning views on the low lands below. Its a perfect camping spot in the Usambara mountains. The estate offers stunning views from the Muheza Valley to the Indian ocean. Enjoy the lush rain forest with rare plants and bird species or walk through the old plam oil plantation. Learn about organic spice production such as cardamom, pepper, cloves, vanilla, cinamon, tea and many other useful plants. Have a picnic or swim in our beautiful lake.

Nyerere National Park
At 30,893 square kilometers, the vast Nyerere National Park is Africa's largest stand alone National Park and one of the largest in the world. The park is located in south Eastern Tanzania, roughly 230 kilometers by road from Dar es Salaam city to Mtemere Gate, and was carved out from the Selous Game reserve, a huge wilderness area and safari destination in Southern Tanzania.Nyerere Park boasts of the largest concentration of wild animals and a rich collection of wildlife that is abundant and diverse. The fact that this park is new and largely less frequented by tourists means that the animals here tend to be less exposed to humans. Good numbers of Big Cats such as Lion, Leopard, Cheetah are to be found here along with other large Game animals such as Elephant, Rhino, Buffalo, Giraffe, Eland, Zebra, Wildebeest and other wildlife. With the new establishment of this park by the Tanzania Government and TANAPA ( Tanzania National Parks Authority ) in late 2019, it is expected that the park will be developed further and managed more professionally for a better tourism experience.

Mikumi National Park!
Is accessible as it is, is the most appealing Park to a safari. This Park will give a true taste of an African safari while preserving your precious time. The Park has a variety of wildlife that can be easily seen. Its closeness to Dar es salaam makes it an ideal place for weekend visitors who don’t have to spend a long time on an extended safari itinerary. The vegetation of this area is savanna dotted with acacia, baobab, tamarinds and some palm trees. Mikumi is one most reliable places in Tanzania for animal sightings especially during the dry season. This is the time when wildlife is easier to spot because vegetation is thinner and animals gather around water sources such as Mkata river, hippo pools, Mwanambogo poosl and other waterholes. These waterholes are constantly visited by big herds of buffaloes, elephants as well as other wild animals. We are honored that you have chosen to visit and stay with us and look forward to providing you with unforgettable experience.
Brief History of the Park Mikumi National Park is lying just to the Nyerere National Park, gazetted in 1964 with 1,070 km2 , later on by 1975 annexed to cover an area of 3,230 km2 , the park is the ninth largest National Park in Tanzania. It is in one ecosystem with Nyerere National Park making the animals (Elephants, Buffalos, wild dog and Zebras) migrate to and from the northern part of the Nyerere N. Park into Mikumi N. Park.
